Injustice Exhibition

Injustice Exhibition

Local Brisbane arts activists from ARTillery will launch Injustice at Jugglers Art Space, an exhibition exploring the justice system and its effects of the on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists passionate about the problem are showcased in the exhibition.

The release of shocking footage and documents detailing the abuse of Indigenous children in state detention, first in the Northern Territory and then in Queensland, have focused the nation’s attention firmly on the issue of youth justice. Injustice will speak not only of the struggles of the past and present, but also of hope for the future.

“ARTillery Brisbane is working hard to make sure Indigenous-led community solutions are at the forefront of our response to this crisis,” said ARTillery volunteer Courtney Dowton. Ms. Dowton continued, “Amnesty research has found that a shift to supporting, innovative, Indigenous-led organisations could make the biggest difference in helping Queensland kids thrive.”

Opening night is on Saturday September 3 from 7:00 pm. The event is free entry and there will be a bar open all night, so come along and gain a new perspective about this important cultural issue.
