In Focus: Wes Anderson
When it comes to directors, Wes Anderson is in a league all of his own – his cute, kitsch, pastel creations have earned him praise the world over, and now Brisbane is getting its very own retrospective of his work. Palace James Street is dedicating every Thursday night to the director’s inimitable cinematic universe.
The Fortitude Valley haunt will be serving up a selection of Wes’ work throughout October and November, dedicating Thursday nights to the cause.
The schedule is as follows – in the first week on October 17 you can catch Bottle Rocket, followed by the adorable Rushmore on October 24, cult fave The Royal Tenenbaums on October 31. The retrospective spans almost all of Anderson’s catalogue, including The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (November 7), The Darjeeling Limited (November 14), Fantastic Mr Fox (November 21), The Grand Budapest Hotel (November 28) and Isle of Dogs (December 5).
