Join us for a very special in-conversation event with Monty Python’s Eric Idle as he sits down with writer and broadcaster, Richard Fidler to discuss his long-awaited and brilliantly funny autobiography, Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.

Comedian, actor, author and singer-songwriter Eric Idle found immediate fame on television with the sketch-comedy show Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Following its success, the Pythons began making films that include Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979) and The Meaning of Life (1983). Eric also wrote the award-winning musical Spamalot.

Coming of age as a writer and comedian during the Sixties and Seventies, Eric stumbled into the crossroads of the cultural revolution and found himself rubbing shoulders with the likes of George Harrison, David Bowie and Robin Williams, all of whom became lifelong friends. With anecdotes sprinkled throughout his autobiography that involve other close friends and luminaries such as Mick Jagger, Steve Martin, Paul Simon and Mike Nichols – as well as the Pythons themselves – Eric captures a time of tremendous creative output with equal hilarity and heart.

Marking the 50th anniversary of The Pythons, be part of this limited audience as Eric sits down and discuss the highlights of his life and career with the off-beat humour that has delighted audiences for five decades.

Please note, this is an in-conversation with Eric Idle and Richard Fidler, not a stand-up comedy show. There is no book signing after the show. To get a signed copy of Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, purchase the Ticket+Book price.
