Celebrate Youth Week and develop your artistic skills in this illustration workshop for young artists at Pine Rivers Art Gallery on Thursday April 9.

Join artist and botanical illustrator, Nicole Crosswell to sketch in close observation with graphite guided by basic drawing techniques on cartridge paper, then proceed to tech pens and ink on fine art paper.

Write your story on tracing paper or type it out on a vintage typewriter and collage that into the drawing.

Be inspired by the exhibition Know you neighbour and Nicole’s artwork, Antoinette’s Camellias which speaks of the role of plants within the neighbourhood. Nicole will bring work from the studio and botanical drawings from the Qld Herbarium for inspiration.

This activity is part of Moreton Bay Region’s Youth Week celebrations.

Youth Week is an annual celebration of young people from 12 to 25 years of age. This year Youth Week will be celebrated from 1 to 9 April 2020 and promotes the theme ‘Yeah the Youth!’
