Take a walk down the aisle and take in the history, beauty and glamour of wedding dresses and love stories from Queensland Museum’s extensive collection and beyond in new exhibition I do! Wedding Stories from Queensland.

The exhibition will explore the social and cultural changes through the display and interpretation of wedding fashion and clothing. Spanning more than 180 years of wedding traditions – I do! Wedding Stories from Queensland will explore how some of these traditions have remained the same, how others have changed and how the union of two people in marriage has looked different depending on cultural backgrounds, economic conditions, location and legislation.

I Do! Wedding Stories from Queensland will be located on Level 2 of Queensland Museum and opens on Friday September 18 and runs until Sunday February 21, 2021.
