Have A Go! Festival 2016

Enjoy a fabulously creative weekend with the whole family at the annual festival of traditional skills and crafts. Over the weekend of Saturday February 20 and Sunday February 21 you are invited to come along and discover a whole range of traditional trades, skills and crafts, including blacksmithing, furniture making, wheelwrighting, weaving, knitting, millinery and more!

Meet the artisans who practise these trades and, as the name suggests, have a go for yourself! Step Up + Have A Go at weaving, lacemaking, crochet, leatherplaiting, silk painting, paper crafting, and more. Watch demonstrations in airbrush art, harnessing, wheelwrighting, rustic furniture and soap making. Children can have a go at making their own toys and have their face painted in the Kids Have A Go! area.

All this for just $10 per person per day! Families can purchase one day passes for only $30 (1 adult + up to 4 children or 2 adults + up to 3 children).

Plus, you can enhance your Festival experience by booking into a Mini Workshop of up to 90 minutes in blacksmithing, copperfoiling, jewellery making, wood turning, felting, leathercraft, sugarcraft, millinery and ocarina making. Mini Workshops are $20 –$30 each, including admission to the Festival, and should be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.

The Have A Go! fun continues into Saturday evening as we turn our attention to the delicious flavours of our region in Have A Taste! on Saturday February 20, 4:00 pm-8:00 pm. Meet the makers and hear their secrets to growing and producing gourmet food and wine. Plus there will be plenty of opportunities to have a taste! Entry to Have A Taste! is FREE. Gourmet food and drinks available to purchase.
