Harmony Day is an annual event celebrated nationally on Monday March 21, to coincide with the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

On Thursday March 17 from 10:30am – 2:30 pm, Access is thrilled to be hosting a Harmony Day event at TAFE Queensland, South West, Bundamba through its project, One City One People.

The day will include a huge range of cultural performances, art and mixed media exhibitions, multicultural food and a sports zone. The event will also showcase sub projects including the production of a documentary, creation of a song and an arts display that has been entirely created by young people from the Ipswich community.

During the lead up to the event, Ipswich young people involved in the One City One People project have been actively engaged in creating beautiful cultural artworks that expresses the diversity within the Ipswich Community. There will be multiple panels representing different ethnicities from around the world.

Additionally, to encompass what Harmony represents, young people from all diverse multicultural backgrounds from the Ipswich Community have worked together in creating both an original documentary and song that portrays a positive representation of their experiences living in Ipswich.

Access would like to invite everyone from the local community, organisations, businesses and individuals alike, to come along to this Harmony Day event and share in the wide range of multicultural food and entertainment!
