Halloween night adventures: Debunking the myths – Beastly Bats

Think you know all about bats? Think again!

Enjoy a special live wildlife presentation and guided night walk  to debunk the myths and learn fascinating facts about our precious fruit-bats and micro-bats. Join staff from Brisbane City Council's Environment Centres and try your hand at spotting nocturnal wildlife, and meet these cute creatures of the night that are not scary at all! Halloween dress-ups encouraged – come along in your best batty disguise!

Participants will explore a 1200-metre trail on this walk. Please note this activity will continue in light rain.

Requirements: Safety requirements apply and are a condition of entry. Children must be aged six years or older and accompanied by an adult booked into the walk. One adult per two children is required. For safety reasons children under six cannot attend.

Please wear secure and fully enclosed walking shoes, long pants and long sleeves. Bring a small hand-held torch (no headlamps), insect repellent, drinking water, and a raincoat if required. Please arrive ten minutes early to check in. Please do not leave early unless it is an emergency. We recommend a light meal prior to the walk.

Note: Public toilets are available at the meeting point and will be visited before the walk. Activities are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
