Hadron Collider After Dark

Are you ready to particle? Hadron Collider After Dark is your chance to experience the largest scientific experiment ever constructed!

For three special nights only, punters can sit in on expert talks, watch live demonstrations, groove to live tunes and gain access to the entire museum. Talk about VIP treatment!

Apart from getting to see the awesome Hadron Collider: Step inside the world’s greatest experiment exhibit, lucky ticket-holders will also be privy to a host of entertainment. There are particle physics experiments with UQ science, a paper plane engineering origami workshop and even pinball machines and air hockey if you’re feeling competitive.

The tunes will be coming in hot, with two lots of sonic treats on offer. DJ Bacon will be colliding beats in the Sciencentre, and the multidisciplinary Uptown Brown will be bringing his one-man band skills to level two.

For those who want the inside scoop, there will be talks for all topics. Keeper of Science Collections at the Science Museum and the curator of London’s Hadron Collider exhibition Alison Boyle will be chatting all things nerdy. Physicist Dr Joel Gilmore will be breaking it down in Higgs Boson for beginners, and astrophysicist Dr Tamara Davis explains the lighter side of dark matter. There’s even a chance to meet the curator at Scramjets with Mark Clayton.
