Lord Mayor’s Green Heart Photography Competition

Photography buffs – get snapping! The Lord Mayor’s Green Heart Photography Competition is back again to showcase Brisbane’s natural environment through stunning photography. Explore your local park, backyard or natural area and capture imagery that will help inspire others to keep Brisbane clean and green for future generations.

Entries to the competition can be submitted from Saturday October 13 through to Monday November 5, 2018. With three categories including primary school ages, secondary school ages and open, there is something for everyone.

The theme of this year’s competition is ‘Colours of Brisbane’. You can draw inspiration from the aqua-marine waters of Moreton Bay, pink-tinged clouds after a summer storm or rainbow lorikeets feeding in the trees. Capture the beauty of Brisbane’s natural environment for your competition entries.

There are some great prizes to win including a family getaway, camera prize packs and a Story Bridge Adventure Climb for two. Thirty finalist images will be chosen for public voting from November 13 to 26. The winners will be announced on Friday 7 December at QPAC’s Green Jam. One finalist will have their image projected onto the William Jolly Bridge. All finalists will be part of a roaming gallery around Brisbane in December and January.

To enter the competition simply submit your favourite photograph of the natural Brisbane environment through the online form with a short explanation, or share it on Instagram with the hashtag #mygreenbne and state the entry category.
