Gondwana Festival
Located within the breathtaking Scenic Rim, the Gondwana Festival will be a month long celebration of the regeneration of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests in south-east Queensland.
The festival includes guided walks, talks and wild adventures from the base camps (and luxury lodges) of Binna Burra Mountain Lodge, O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat and Mt Barney Lodge. There will also be live music, a film festival under the stars, children’s nature play activities, informative talks from experts in adventure and conservation, bushcraft and survival activities and guided mountain expeditions. Talk about an adventure!
Over 180 million years in the making, the area known as the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia includes the oldest examples of the world’s ferns and conifers. Over 200 species of rare or threatened plant and animal species call these rainforests home, and you can find beech trees up to 3,000 years old.
