FUTURE  ART | TECH | DESIGN  INCUBATOR presents the works in progress of the Ars Electronica Futurelab Academy (AEFA) at QUT. The AEFA @QUT provides students with the opportunity to work with peers, researchers, industry and artists through stages of ideation, experimentation, prototyping, pitching and presenting media art works.

The AEFA @QUT will be presenting three works ahead of their premiere at one of the largest media arts festival in the world, Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria.

AIWA provides an interactive experience for a home product with the promise of fully-sentient artificial intelligence. Proposed as a start-up, participants will interact with this product as part of beta-testing.

Dilate is an experiential installation that uses a scientific framework based on symbiosis. The installation gives the public an opportunity to experience a living, breathing piece of technology on their body and explore their emotional response to this relationship.

Soundline is a roaming installation that invites audiences to become experiential co-producers of their own audio-visual performance. The project focuses on collaboration, social play, musical improvisation, future entertainment and how technology can be used to facilitate a state of group flow.

Panel – Digital Affordances & Entanglement

The QUT Creative Lab will present a panel discussion on Digital Affordances and Entanglement on Wednesday 8th August from 6-7pm on the Turbine Platform.

The panel will be chaired by Dr Donna Hancox and include panellists Kris Stewart and Dr Steph Hutchison to discuss current and upcoming local and international projects and what they see as the future for audience engagement and building communities.
