Friday Nights at the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium

Looking for a date night that is out of this world? The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium’s Friday night program has mind-blowing shows that will take you across our universe. With some of the most exquisite imagery and amazing technological displays, the Friday night program features two unique shows that will fascinate and delight visitors of all ages.

Passport to the Universe is a thrilling journey, narrated by Tom Hanks, through the Solar System, out of the Milky Way Galaxy and to the edge of the observable universe.

Bella Gaia is a poetical musical journey around planet Earth, blending NASA science visualisations with cultural scenes from ancient Egypt to modern cities. It explores the relationship between human civilisation and our ecosystem, and simulates the new perspectives gained by orbiting astronauts.

Located within the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha, the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium features space shows that will captivate people of all ages. Home to the Cosmic Skydome, the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium has been an iconic destination in Brisbane since 1978. While you’re there, don’t miss the Skylore exhibition, featuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander astronomy displays.

The Mount Coot-tha green leisure and adventure precinct has so much to see and do. There are plenty of activities in the precinct for all ages so make a day out of it and stroll through the gardens before your show or hike through one of the many trails in the area.

Purchase three-show passes or group tickets for a discount on the ticket price. For more information about the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium or shows, visit the website. To make a show booking, call 07 3403 2578. Doors close promptly at 7:30 pm so please arrive fifteen minutes before the show begins.
