Be empowered to create completely biodegradable Christmas decorations this year in your home!

Come along to this fun and engaging workshop and walk away with your very own hand-woven foraged Christmas wreath, ready to display at home. Emma will explain the best types of foliage to use that are easily accessible in Brisbane backyards at this time of year. The hand weaving technique means that your wreath will be made entirely of natural materials – no wire or tape (or even twine) necessary.

The weaving skills taught at the workshops are entirely transferable to any number of foliage and floral based projects. All natural flower crowns, garlands, table centre-pieces. Emma will also explain about responsible foraging techniques and the best types of foliage to use to create a dried, everlasting wreath. We will provide everything you need to create a beautiful wreath decorated with foraged seedpods, dried fruits, gumnuts and berries.

Participants are encourage to bring any scraps of natural fabric, linen, silk or foraged treasure from their own collection that they may like to add. There will be the opportunity to purchase naturally dyed silk ribbons, hand rolled beeswax candles and copper and recycled silver candle holders to adorn your wreath.

Meet the Facilitator:
Emma is one half of ‘Cultivate Collective’, a creative studio run in partnership with her horticulturalist husband Dave. Emma is an architect, floral designer, artist, and forager. A botanical creative with a firm focus on minimising waste and connecting with nature through creative pursuits.
