Join two of the nation’s most celebrated female artists as they come together to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Referendum.

Multi-award winning singer-songwriter, Black Arm Band artist and proud Yanyuwa and Wardaman woman Shellie Morris, joins with singer-songwriter and 2017 Queensland Music Award winner Emily Wurramara, celebrating the anniversary of this significant day.

Shellie Morris is a multi-award-winning singer/songwriter creating and singing in around 17 Australian Aboriginal languages. She is proactive in the community empowering change for Aboriginal peoples, and has countless awards to her name, including Music Australia Award, G.R. Burarrwanga Memorial Award, NT Australian of the Year (2014), NAIDOC National Artist of the Year (2014), multiple Deadly Awards and an ARIA nomination as the first Indigenous Australian to create an entire album in an Aboriginal language. She is a key artist of the Black Arm Band, and the driving force behind the acclaimed album Ngambala Wiji li-Wunungu and the internationally award-winning musical documentary Prison Songs.

Acclaimed young singer/songwriter, Emily Wurramara has made a big name for herself in her short career.  Her work is deeply rooted in her culture. She creates music, sung in both English and Anindilyakwa – the traditional language of her home on Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory – based on deeply engaging and personal stories from her life and community. With festival appearances around Australia, including Woodford Folk Festival and Island Vibes, and performances in Sweden and France, as well as Queensland Music Award nominations, national airplay on ABC local and Triple J, and a Triple J Unearthed showcase at the prestigious BigSound conference in 2017 under her belt, there is no stopping this young lady.
