Explosions in the Sky
Texan post-rock behemoths Explosions in the Sky make their way to QPAC’s Concert Hall for one night only as part of their Australian tour. Renowned for their scathingly intense live shows, the quartet have sold out Radio City Music Hall, created the soundtrack for Friday Night Lights and a number of other motion pictures and TV shows, and most recently performed at Glastonbury Festival.
Explosions in the Sky have garnered popularity beyond the post-rock scene for their elaborately developed guitar work, narratively styled instrumentals, and what they refer to as “cathartic mini-symphonies” during their enthusiastic and emotional live shows. Equal parts romance and tragedy, the band’s beautiful melodies have the tendency to ignite into head-spinning walls of noise.
