English Baroque with Circa

The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra has an incredible reputation for its out-of-the-box collaborations, bringing its music to new audiences through innovative thinking. The Brandenburg’s first partnership with CircaFrench Baroque in 2015, won a Helpmann Award. In 2017 Spanish Baroque was a sold-out sensation. You can see that this is quite the winning formula … This year, English Baroque with Circa becomes the third daring union of the revered arts institutions Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Circa. An inspired pasticcio by Artistic Directors Paul Dyer (Brandenburg) and Yaron Lifschitz (Circa), with music from 16th and 17th-century England and featuring the beautiful voice of soprano Jane Sheldon, English Baroque with Circa will have you gripping your seat and gasping in awe. This breathtaking combination of Circa acrobats and Brandenburg musicians will have you spellbound from the first note to the last. Join the Brandenburg and Circa for this dazzling experience of contemporary circus and enchanting English masque and theatre music. QPAC’s Concert Hall will be transformed for one night only – exploding with sound, colour and movement. English Baroque with Circa is a pasticcio created by Paul Dyer and Yaron Lifschitz with music by Handel, Purcell and Dowland.
