Emma

Emma

Jane Austen’s Emma is a classic. A kind, but manipulative heroine aims to improve the fortunes of her pet project Harriet.

It is a story about the tangled webs we all weave when sucked in to people’s lives either wittingly or less so. It is a reminder that if we’re focused on someone else or something else, we’re perhaps not focusing on a) reality and b) ourselves and things can go horribly wrong.

Brisbane Arts Theatre’s production is classic in interpretation and technical theatre. You’ll feel all the more educated for having seen it, and then you can pop down to The Barracks for an intellectual discussion over a glass of Pimms afterwards.
