Eat Street Markets
Please note: Eat Street Markets will be closed for relocation from Sunday March 5 until the end of March. A new location isn’t the only change the much-loved markets are going to see. When Eat Street Markets reopens at the end of March, it won’t be so much a market, but more of a dining and entertainment precinct. Instead of market stalls, you’ll find your favourite vendors – plus a bunch of new ones – housed inside permanent shipping-container eateries. Many issues faced in the previous location will also be fixed – the new Eat Street Markets will have more seating and tables (including some right on the river), private function spaces, more parking and more shade. There will also be an open-air cinema and a number of special events such as long-table dinners with guest chefs. The markets will also be extending its trading hours, opening the usual Friday and Saturday evenings from 4:00–10:00 pm, plus Sundays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm year round.
From the scents of international cuisines to the sounds of live performers, the Eat Street Markets creates a buzzing atmosphere for friends and family to gather every Friday and Saturday night, and all day Sunday. Inspired by traditional Asian markets, Eat Street sees shipping containers reconfigured as mini bars and restaurants, offering a selection of dishes created by local chefs. From freshly baked pies to local seafood, and Mexican tacos to New York hot dogs, every craving will be covered at Eat Street. Once you’ve filled the belly, browse the work of some of our state’s best artisans and designers in a gallery of containers and tents that runs alongside the food containers. Eat Street Markets is open every Friday and Saturday night from 4:00–10:00 pm. Keep watch on Facebook for updates on vendors and trading hours.
