Dwell – check-in if you dare
A group of Brisbane circus performers are pooling their talents and asking audiences to check-in (if they dare) to the ultimate hotel experience for anyone who has been curious about what goes on behind closed doors.
Outrageous, sexy and peculiar, Dwell by Collectivist is a voyeuristic night of circus and physical theatre that shares unique stories through acrobatics, hand-balance, clowning, tumbling, and dance.
Premiering at Anywhere Theatre Festival this year to sold out audiences and returning for a much anticipated return season as part of Brisbane Powerhouse’s Wonderland Festival, Dwell uses bodies to tell character-driven stories about themselves and the world around them.
“If you had one hour in a cheap motel room to live out your dreams and fantasies, what would you do?” asks producer Madeleine Grant.
“We encourage audiences to get involved, but have three simple rules to those who are checking-in to the Dwell Motel: 1. Leave the room as you found it. 2. Your stay is short, make the most of it. 3. Take your baggage with you when you leave,” said Grant.
Dwell is playing for three nights only at Wonderland Festival 2019 at Brisbane Powerhouse from Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th of November. Rated MA15+, Dwell contains some nudity and adult themes. Tickets on sale now from wonderlandbrisbane.com.au
