Dustier Than Ever is a 90 minute show performed by Chris Cook with the approval of Joy McKean, Slim’s wife. Chris Cook plays fast and furious guitar, highly polished bluegrass banjo and energetic country fiddle with his distinctive and inimitable style, infectious enthusiasm and extensive repertoire. This acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and song writer is accompanied by his Band – Rob Renfrew, a very competent double bass player who also sings and James Cantwell, an experienced and unique drummer and
percussionist.

Chris Cook who attended many of Slim Dusty’s concerts from childhood onwards is inspired by Slim’s intregrity, his reputation, his music and his love of Australia. He also wrote three songs which were recorded by Slim. Chris feels privileged to be able to carry on the tradition of entertainment which Slim and Joy perfected in their tours around Australia.
Chris met Slim Dusty a number of times. He includes snippets from these meetings combined with historical details of Slim’s life and recordings in an interesting monologue.

This is merged with Slim Dusty songs both popular and obscure. Chris’s ability to perform Slim’s songs with the energy that Slim delivered means an engaging, interesting and high quality Show. Dustier Than Ever is a Show to be remembered.
