Duo Ras Dashen – Brisbane International Jazz Festival


Ethiopian folk songs and prayers, which express the longings of the Beta Israel, Ethiopia’s Jews for Jerusalem, are presented in a fresh and modern framework with blues, gospel and jazz influences. Ras Dashen’s album is regarded as one of the finest and most original produced in Israel in the last decade and their music emphasizes that the musical roots of blues and jazz are in Africa.

Duo Ras Dashen will create a vibe like no other, for one night at the Brisbane Jazz Club. The performance is in in conjunction with the Brisbane International Jazz Festival.

The Brisbane International Jazz Festival has proudly unveiled its 2015 program, bringing together some of the finest talents in the genre from Norway, Poland, South Korea, Japan and more, as well as showcasing the best in home grown talent for the festival which takes over various locations in Brisbane from Wednesday June 3 to Monday June 8.
