Con/struct: Celebrating Queensland Sculpture

con│struct: Celebrating Queensland Sculpture explores the extraordinarily diverse field of sculpture. It features ten artists that represent the scope and depth of contemporary sculpture across the state who have a sustained practice working in the sculptural realm. Artists include Lincoln Austin, Eleanor and James Avery, Laurindo de Abreau Sotto, Simone Eisler, Jason Fitzgerald, Hew Chee Fong, Stephen Hart, Stephen Newton, Charles Robb and Daniel Templeman.

con/struct: Celebrating Queensland Sculpture is the first in a series of exhibitions curated to demonstrate the depth and diversity of artistic practice of living Queensland sculptors. This exhibition will provide a context for sculptures from the Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Art Collection with half the sculptors selected for this exhibition represented in the MBRC art collection.

Caboolture Regional Art Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening of con│struct: Celebrating Queensland Sculpture, to be officially opened by Mayor, Councillor Allan Sutherland on Saturday February 7 at 11:00 am. Join us beforehand for artist talks by Lincoln Austin, Stephen Hart and Daniel Templeman from 9:30am and stay on after lunch for a panel discussion on the state of public sculpture with Jacqueline Armistead.
