Comedy Commentary Cinema – Hands of Steel (1986)

Kristian Fletcher joins forces with Steven Morgan’s Comedy Commentary Cinema at SBC ! Our next movie is the 1986 sci-fi action flick – the ‘Italian Terminator’ – Hands of Steel! There will be an hilarious live commentary by local comedy legends Michael Connell and Simone Eclair, hosted by Steven Morgan

Michael Connell has won several comedy competitions such as the TREV Campus Comedy Competition, and the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Class Clowns Competition. He has performed several shows in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He has performed to capacity crowds at both the Melbourne Town Hall and Her Majesty’s Theatre, during a half time show at Telstra Dome, appeared on television and radio and regularly gigs at some of the best comedy clubs around Australia.

Simone Eclair is unapologetic, opinionated, hard work and tactless. She’s hosted her own comedy nights, toured Australia, is a magnificent writer, and is the co-organiser of this year’s Bris Funny Fest. Somehow she combines all of this with raising her own kids and sleeping, which has started to make us wonder whether the cyborg is the one on the screen or the one on the stool. Find out on the night!

Comedy Commentary Cinema have created a place where like-minded folk can congregate to celebrate the joy that is a good bad movie and re-create that living room atmosphere of a night in with friends. A place where the shackles of polite cinema etiquette are discarded as the audience are encouraged to jeer, heckle and participate with the film creating a novel interactive cinema experience. As we know, nothing is as much fun as watching a bad film with friends.

Armed only with their wit and their laser pointers the comedians take you on a journey through weak plot lines, terrible dialogue, wooden acting and some of the worst special effects known to man. All while they provide you with a live Blu-ray style commentary just in case you missed the worst bits.

Arrive early for drinks and food available to purchase from the bar. The film will be screening in our own private pop-up cinema with limited seating of around 25 – pre-bookings recommended. This is an 18+ licensed event.
