Cleopatra – Clash of the Fashion Houses

World premiere season of new locally written musical comedy Cleopatra – Clash of the Fashion Houses is an adaptation of the classic story about Egypt’s exotic Queen Cleopatra, but with a hilarious twist.

Set in the glamorous fashion world of 48BC, Cleopatra’s Pharaoh House of Fashion is in huge debt to the Roman Forum Emporium whose boss is Julius Caesar. Cleopatra seduces Caesar into forging a mutually beneficial alliance. After a public confrontation with villain Brutus Maximus and his evil soothsayer sister Octavian, Caesar meets with his Vestal Virgins and mysteriously goes missing. Caesar’s friend Marc Antony pledges his support to Cleopatra and is captivated by her charms.

King Tutankhamun makes a special appearance to guide Antony and Cleopatra, but could this be the tragic end of Cleopatra? Come and see how it all ends.

The show has colourful characters, a rollicking script, spectacular costumes and clever sets, flamboyant wit, plot twists, and catchy new songs with rich melodies.

The talented cast of 14 performers present a range of iconic characters full of energy and cheeky fun.

You may have read books about Cleopatra and seen TV documentaries/mini-series or movies, but nothing compares to seeing this stylish new musical comedy, touted as the next big show of the year in Brisbane.
