Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo

Oye, Amigos!

We are getting ready for Cinco de Mayo at Riverlife! We’re mixing up some margaritas and our mariachi band has their maracas at the ready.

Originally, Cinco de Mayo was a day that commemorated the Mexican battle of Puebla where the French were defeated, and heritage, pride and national unity was restored. Today, Cinco de Mayo marks a celebration of Mexican culture, cuisine, cocktails, and music. In creating our own tradition, our Cinco de Mayo falls annually on the Labour Day long weekend.

So join us on this fine public holiday eve to bust out your sandals and sombreros for a banging day and night of celebrating all that is Mexican. With a sombrero stall, churro cart, sugar skull face painting and a chilli eating competition, there is a lot to get excited about!

We can’t wait to salsa the night away with some dance lessons from the Azucar Afro-Latin Dance Studio salsa dancers. You can test out your new moves when Duo Serenata bring their exuberant act to the stage! Don’t worry, the fiesta won’t stop there, a live DJ will keep the party going well into the night.

Cinco de Mayo is an all ages and licensed event.
