Children of the Revolution


Revolution, protest and social change as always been aided and instigated by music. From La Marseillaise during the French Revolution to the counterculture revolution of the 1960s and 70s, to days of punk music – music has been intrinsic in consciousness shifts throughout history.

On Saturday January 17. the Triffid is hosting a night of music with an edge. Children of the Revolution: The History of the Protest Song will feature local musicians performing songs of protest that have inspired them, drawn from recent and distant history. Artists performing will include Jackie Marshall, Luke Peacock, Sahara Beck, Kahl Wallis (The Medics), CKNU, Lucy Star (Satellite), and Celestino, plus speakers and artists.
