Australian swimming champion and Commonwealth Games medalist Lorna Tonks will be among a panel of experts taking part in a water safety event at Greenbank this week.

The free ‘Summer Splash’ event, which is being hosted by Mirvac and its community engagement team, Enriching Communities, aims to raise swim safety awareness for families.

A representative from Queensland Surf Life Saving will be giving a CPR demonstration and members of Logan City Council will be speaking on pool compliance and how to ensure your pool area is child friendly.

The event is also set to be a fun day out for the family, with a free giant water slide, water activities plus giveaways and prizes to be won.

There will also be a water hose activity for the kids thanks to the Greenbank Rural Fire Brigade and a sausage sizzle hosted by Greenbank State School.
