Celeste Mountjoy, creator of FILTHYRATBAG, will be heading to the Fish Lane Arts Precinct from May 22 to June 4 for an exclusive residency and workshop tour at Merivale Studios. Before embarking on her next creative chapter in the United States, Celeste will be activating the precinct with special creative workshops, activations and pop-ups.

Celeste will be hosting a unique storytelling workshop on May 23 and May 30. In this hands-on session, attendees will be guided through Celeste’s creative process to create their own character and bring them to life through illustration and writing. Celeste will share insights into how she develops her distinctive characters and the stories they inhabit, blending humour, raw emotion and the quirks of daily life.

On Saturday May 25, Celeste will host a special portrait illustration pop-up and print shop. From 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, you can commission Celeste for an original illustrated and signed portrait of yourself or a loved one. Sit down portraits estimated between 15–20 minutes. It’s first in, first served – so don’t miss out!
