Cast By The Sun is a joint exhibition between academics and higher degree research students from Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art and Temple University’s Tyler Art School in Philadelphia. The exhibition is co-curated by Jay Younger and Byron Wolfe, and will showcase the works of 32 photographers. The premise of this exhibition is to investigate the role of place in artistic practice. More specifically, is there an assumption that place in art is somehow more evident in photographic form? This exhibition posits that the artists’ experience of place has created a different distinctiveness in each artist’s practice.
