Local food champions, Food Connect, are hosting an informal info night sharing how anyone can team up with their friends or neighbours to access fresh veg and premium groceries at much lower wholesale prices – usually reserved for hospo venues or big co-ops. It’s also a great way to bring down your eco footprint, and an excuse to get together with mates to divvy out food over a wine.

There’s no right or wrong way to set up a bulk buyers group – fortnightly or weekly, sharing the duties, meeting at a house or a bar – so Food Connect has a panel of established buyers group organsiers lined up to tell you how they got started, where they find members, how they organise orders, what they wish they knew when starting out and more. They’ll also be sharing a new Bulk Buyers Group handbook full of tips and essentials.
