Brisbane Festival at West Village

Brisbane Festival at West Village

West Village will once again come alive with illuminating art installations, curiosity-piquing workshops and a jam-packed theatrical program at Metro Arts all in the name of Brisbane Festival. Vibrant inflatable installations will take root in the gardens of the West End precinct for Lost, an enchanting display of extinct and endangered floral illuminations created by Australian artist Amanda Parer. Got the little ones in tow? Inside the flora-focused installation sits a workshop shed where youngsters can make their own take-home flower crowns and insect masks as part of Wearable Wonders. Another event worth making tracks to is Sense the Connection, where First Nations caretaker and chef Kieron Anderson will guide families on a sensory exploration of the sights, sounds, smells, feelings and flavours of nature’s beautiful forms.

Thrilling theatre will take centre stage at Metro Arts, which will be hosting a scintillating selection of shows during Brisbane Festival. Expect belly laughs aplenty at the Funny Mummies Comedy Gala, witness daring dancing at Weredingo, immerse yourself in the world of cycling at Mechanics of Adaptation, or treat the kids to a showing of Wilbur the Optical WhaleTo peep all of the weird and wonderful Brisbane Festival events coming to West Village, pop over here.
