As the largest showcase of exclusively local designers, Brisbane Fashion Month supports the Queensland creative industry and economy through a month-long showcase of runways, pop-up stores and networking events.

Running from October 1–31, Brisbane Fashion Month’s series of events aims to showcase the best of the Brisbane and Queensland fashion community as part of our city’s booming cultural event schedule. If you’re eager to soak up some style, here are a few events you can still take part in:

Styling You The Label: Diversity and Fashion – Thursday October 14
On Thursday October 14, join Styling You The Label’s Nikki Parkinson for an industry chat and runway that showcases why fashion brands will be left behind if they don’t take steps to be more inclusive – in their size offering and the way they market their clothes to their customers. Nikki will sit down with Active Truth’s Nadia Tucker and Stevie Angel, as well as Capriosca Swimwear’s Marcia Pilkington to talk about how creating brands that pay more than lip service to diversity has helped them to build thriving businesses that connect with their customers on a level that is way deeper than the clothes they produce. Then, enjoy a runway show including previews from Styling You The Label’s high summer collections as well as active and swimwear from Active Truth and Capriosca. Set to Launch: Starting your fashion label – Saturday October 23
Ready to start your own fashion label? On Saturday October 23, hear from industry leader Thuy Nguyen, founder of Fashion 360, designer Tamarin Whittaker of new Brisbane label TaLuna Collective and designer Laura Gangemi of Rudi Miro and Red Ridge the Label, on their insights and experience in making it happen. From structuring your business to getting investment, design, production and marketing your brand, learn what it takes to bring a brand to life from those who’ve taken the leap and found success with their own fashion start-ups. Shot in the Brisbane CBD and featuring exclusively Brisbane-based designers, The Brisbane Fashion Month Digital Runway is online now! Fashion lovers can watch the runway as well as virtually try on and shop every look featured in the Puctto digital magazine.
