Good people of Brisbane, ready your stomachs. It’s time to dust off those stretchy pants and prepare to get your hands greasy. Stone & Wood and The Triffid are proud to present Brisbane’s first burger festival, Burger Fest. On Saturday October 21, The Triffid will be shutting down Stratton Street and bringing in the big guns, with Brisbane’s best burger joints setting up shop in Newstead for one day only.
‘Brisbane’s best burger’ is a contentious title, but Burger Fest will give you opportunity to settle the debate for good. The festival will feature a line-up of Brisbane’s most famed buns, with Ze Pickle, Miss Kay’s, Ben’s Burgers, Mr Burger, 5 Boroughs, Red Hook, Lucky Egg and The Triffid’s own burgers hitting the grill. Each store be offering up their loved classics along with an exclusive Burger Fest burger. Arrive hungry, because we guarantee you’ll want to eat your way from one end of Stratton Street to the other.
Burger Fest is a free event, and will not only be host to Brisbane’s best burgers, but also burger-eating competitions and live music all day in the Triffid Beer Garden.
When the sun sets and your stomach is ready to explode, legendary Powderfinger front man, Bernard Fanning, will be bringing his fourth and final sold-out show of his Brutal Dawn tour to The Triffid stage (we hear he likes burgers …).
Get ready to grab Saturday October 21 with both hands and leave all inhibitions at the door. Burger Fest will be taking over Stratton Street, Newstead all day and is a free event.
