Bree De Rome and Brad Butcher

Bree De Rome and Brad Butcher

Kick back with a cold beer every Sunday, as Triffid Roots presented by Sarah Howells (Roots ‘N All) takes over the venue and beer garden to bring you the best of Brisbane, and Australia’s blues, roots, folk, contemporary jazz, soul, reggae and world music.

The coolest cowgirl on the Gold Coast, 20-year-old Bree De Rome, wears her nostalgic heart on her sleeve. She independently released her debut EP, Bag Of Bones, in 2013, winning hearts all down the East Coast with her first interstate tour and promising reviews. 2014 has seen Bree go from strength to strength as she performed at Bleach* Festival on the Gold Coast and secured support spots for Andy Bull, Busby Marou and Saskwatch.

In 2012, Brad Butcher released his acclaimed self-tilted debut album, which earned him a showcase at BIGSOUND, Australia’s foremost international music conference. Finalist nominations for a range of Australian and international songwriting and artist development awards followed, as well as supports and guest appearances alongside Busby Marou, Bill Chambers, Mark Seymour and Pete Murray. Brad explored new themes for his forthcoming sophomore album, Jamestown. Recorded in New Jersey by Grammy award winning producer Marc Swersky (Joe Cocker, Diesel), it centres around themes of travel and the contrasting lifestyle of a fly-in fly-out worker who always has home in his heart and a guitar close to hand. At the core of it all though is an uncomplicated country bloke striving to connect, inspire and remain true.
