Braille House Week

Braille House Week

Braille House is inviting the whole community to come together and celebrate the very first Braille House Week which will be held from May 7 – 11, 2019.

Braille House in is a 122 year old (formed in 1897 as the Queensland Braille Writing Association) not-for-profit organisation that produces and gives access to reading material and other tactual resources through our extensive library of books, maps, magazines and more to people who are blind or have low vision.

Sally Balwin – General Manager of Braille House said “Braille House has been a part of the Brisbane community since 1897 and we continue to offer our services to children and adults who are blind or have low vision.

Braille House Week is an opportunity for all of the community to come together and have fun while also supporting fellow community members to achieve their life goals.
We would like to invite everyone to celebrate with us by joining a week of fun, learning and understanding. We have a range of events from children’s shows, a wine masterclass, a gala dinner and even a community fair for everyone to come together.”
