Blush by Effervescence
Lovers of champagne and die-hard fans of Effervescence’s annual champagne festival will be pleased to know that this year’s celebration of champagne will be closer to home.
Usually held at Spicers Hidden Vale, due to ongoing building work, Effervescence Champagne Festival will have a new home and a new name in 2019. Blush by Effervescence will take place at the stunning Hanworth House in East Brisbane on Sunday, July 21, with a focus on the most evocative of champagnes, rosé.
TV presenter, chef, and bon viveur Alastair McLeod will be catering an indulgent four-course long lunch in a marquee in the garden of the historic property (which this year celebrates its
155th birthday), matched with half a dozen pink champagnes.
At 2:30pm, the gates will open to general ticket holders with a mini champagne tasting trail representing the wines of six champagne houses. Additionally, throughout the afternoon there will be a ‘Cooking with Champagne’ class by Fleur Sharpe from Cook Live Love, and two champagne masterclasses ‘Champagne for a Cause’, each with a vertical tasting of six iconic 1996 champagnes, with proceeds benefiting the Mater Hospital Foundation’s Chicks in Pink. There will also be a raffle to benefit the same charity, offering the chance to win a private champagne dinner for eight people at Hanworth House – worth over $4000.
There will be a prize for the most stylishly dressed male and female, so frock or suit up in your best pink and join us for a bubbly afternoon honouring the world’s most celebrated
