Bluewater Festival

Bluewater Festival

Celebrate one of Brisbane’s most iconic sporting events this Easter at the Bluewater Festival as it gears up for the 68th Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, and the official re-opening of the newly refurbished Shorncliffe Pier on Good Friday. Entry is free.

Start your Easter break with fireworks over the iconic Shorncliffe Pier on ‘Bayfire Night’ Thursday March 24, which will also feature live entertainment by moonlight, an enchanting lantern parade, market stalls, children’s entertainment and gourmet food.

Enjoy the adrenaline and excitement as hundreds of boats line the bay to farewell the 2016 competing yachts, and thousands of people watch from the shoreline and enjoy the atmosphere.

Returning by popular demand is the Bluewater Festival 4017 Bayside Art Trail where many talented northern Bayside artists throw open their studio doors and allow art lovers to ramble through the art trail to be delighted by the various media forms, talk to the artists and buy original pieces.

Getting to the festival is easy with Brisbane City Council buses, along with the festival being a short stroll from both Shorncliffe and Sandgate train stations.
