Black Diggers uncovers the contribution of Aboriginal Diggers in World War One. It follows their lives from the Australian homeland to battlefields of Gallipoli, Palestine and Flanders. Directed by Queensland Theatre Company’s past Artistic Director, Wesley Enoch, and written by Tom Wright, the film will be screened at The State Library of Queensland as part of the Q Anzac 100: Memories for a New Generation commemoration event.

This extraordinary all-Indigenous cast reenacts the untold story of Indigenous soldiers in World War One. The critically acclaimed production tells the stories of heroic men that have been largely unrecognised by history.

Wesley Enoch will speak at both screenings of Black Diggers and provide us with insight into this special production. This broadcast was filmed in front of a live audience at a Queensland Theatre Company’s production in Brisbane.
