Bird watching for beginners
Come along and learn how to watch and identify birds and gain an appreciation of birds that live in Brisbane! Karawatha Forest is the perfect location for birdwatching as it is the largest remnant bushland within Brisbane City, making it the ideal habitat for many different types of birds.
Environment centre volunteer and enthusiastic birder, Michelle, will guide this introductory field workshop. Learn how to use binoculars and a field guide, while exploring the forest to observe birdlife.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear a wide-brimmed hat, secure and fully enclosed walking shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen and insect repellent. Bring drinking water and a snack or picnic lunch as there are no food outlets on site. Note – walks are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
