Avenue Q

Avenue Q

If you haven’t heard of Avenue Q, you may have been living under Fraggle Rock. It is the hysterical, politically incorrect, screwed up ‘what did I just watch?’ Tony Award-winning musical you always wished existed. Avenue Q residents, Kate Monster and Trekkie Monster (no, they’re not related…are you racist?) Princeton, Nicky and Rod (who is totally not gay) are hanging out with the former child star Gary Coleman on stage in November and December.
Did we mention that they’re puppets? Yes. Puppets loosely based (no copyright infringement intended) on your favourite Sesame Street characters.
Brisbane Arts Theatre says it is perfect for the whole family (if you’re okay with your kids seeing a full-puppet-nudity sex scene and a song called ‘the internet is for p**n’). It’s irreverant, it’s completely mad and back for its fourth consecutive season by popular demand the tickets will sell out, so get in quick!
