Australian Tattoo Expo 2019

After its successful debut in 2018, Australian Tattoo Expo will return to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together over 250 of the best tattoo artists in the country under one roof. Hosted by Melbourne based Australian Exhibition Group, the expo will kick off on Friday 12th-Sunday 14th July 2019, showcasing exceptional artwork from local and international artists travelling from all corners of the globe including New Zealand, South Africa, Nepal and Japan.

Guests will meet their favourite and new artists, watch them in action, get lost in an outstanding image gallery, explore popular trends and techniques and also make an appointment or get inked on the spot. Notable artists include Shaun Bones from televisions Bondi Ink, Nikita Morgan from South Africa, Kelvin Kok from Malaysia and local Brisbanites, Drea Darling and Mimsy Gleeson. A variety of genres will be on display during the expo including Realism, Watercolor, Tribal, New School, Neo Traditional, Japanese and Blackwork ensuring there is something for everyone.

In addition to all things tattoo, Australian Tattoo Expo is home to body piercing, tattoo related merchandise and thrilling sideshow entertainment including circus performers, aerial dancers, sword swallowing and fire eaters. Artists will also continue battling it out in Brisbane to be crowned the 2019 Australian Tattoo Series Champion with a grand prize of $10,000 awarded to the winner at the end. Furthermore, all eyes will be on the hilarious Sh!ttest Tattoo Competition where guests can win big prizes for offering themselves up for a comedic roast in front of expo goers.

The expo will open at 10am each day with tickets ranging from as little as $10 – $70 for the three day pass. Children are also welcome to visit the expo, encouraging budding artists to explore the tattoo genres with their parents. Those under 12 years old can attend for free.
