Throughout the month of May, the nooks and crannies of Brisbane will explode with more than 500 performances for the Anywhere Theatre Festival. Theatre in car parks, comedy in laneways, opera in reservoirs, dance in stairwells and quirky workshops exploring arts and craft from cooking to jewellery making.

Spaces around Brisbane will be activated for small theatre performances ranging from dramatic and comedic to surrealist and irreverent. Cafes, gallery spaces and obscure spots will be transformed into makeshift theatres, as some of Australia’s most innovative amateur performers claim the stage as their own.
