Ai Weiwei’s Boomerang

Ai Weiwei’s Boomerang

A sparkly drawcard for art lovers, Ai Weiwei’s Boomerang is lighting up Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) until Saturday August 8, 2021. Composed of 270,000 crystal pieces, the impressive bulk of Ai Weiwei’s Boomerang 2006 (first installed during ‘The 5th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’) fills the soaring space of the QAG’s Watermall. Sure to impress, the work is both dreamscape and a monument to consumption and display.

So you don’t miss out on snapping a pic with this out-of-this-world artwork, QAGOMA is operating a free time-entry ticket system. QAG is currently open to a limited number of visitors from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and GOMA will open to a limited number of visitors from Friday August 7. To book your free timed ticket to QAGOMA, head here – we suggest booking in advance so you don’t miss out!
