A Walking Tour of Teneriffe

From sheep to submarines, the little suburb of Teneriffe has a very colourful history!

If the walls the 102-year-old Carson Winchombe Woolstore could talk, they would probably highlight the 1920 visit of Edward, the Prince of Wales, or possibly point out where the store’s very own railway siding delivered thousands upon thousands of wool bales for sale and storage, or even reel off the names of prominent squatters and graziers who came to collect fat cheques for their valuable wool clip. Why not join in on a walking tour to appreciate why Teneriffe was once Queensland’s foremost wool precinct?

Kicking off at Bright Learning HQ with an overview of the area and the Woolstores, participants will head out for a local walking tour, stopping at places of interest to hear about some of the unusual events that took place in the streets of this gorgeous suburb.
