Through sculpture, drawing and painting, this exhibition explores how impressions and ideas of noise can be materialised through contemporary art. Brisbane-based artist Ali Bezer listened to radio astronomy, the study of planetary objects and cosmic noise at radio frequencies, before translating her experience into a series of sculptures, drawings and paintings made from metal and repurposed sound objects, including more than 100 metres of dense aluminium. The exhibition will run from Wednesday May 20 to Saturday June 6, and the award-winning local artist will also be on hand to engage in critical discussion with the audience and program coordinator for visual arts, Amy-Clare McCarthy, from 6:00 pm on Wednesday May 27.
