2018 Boondooma Dam Family Yellowbelly Fishing Competition

The 2018 Boondooma Dam Family Yellowbelly Fishing Competition is open and casting is underway for all fishing, camping and outdoors enthusiasts!

Queensland’s largest freshwater fishing tournament is expecting a record number of entrants for the 2018 Boondooma Dam Family Yellowbelly Fishing Competition.
More than 1000 anglers and their families are expected to set up camp lakeside and line up for a catch of the $40,000 pool of cash and prizes.

Now in its 28th year, the annual fishing and family-fun tournament at Lake Boondooma, 260 km north-west of Brisbane, offers a great weekend away, whether angling for a relaxing break in the great outdoors or a serious spot of competition fishing.

Yellowbelly, golden perch, silver perch and Australian bass will be in great supply after the annual restocking program of the beautiful 1900-hectare dam.

Award-winning accommodation at the Lake Boondooma Caravan and Recreation Park, a hidden gem of the South Burnett Region, includes five self-contained cabins, a communal bunkhouse, powered sites, non-powered lakeside camping and modern amenities including kiosk and landscaped picnic and barbecue areas.

Entry costs for the tournament remain unchanged at $20 for adults and $5 for juniors, but all competitors must have a current Stock Impoundment Permit.
