Take in the gripping gothic tale of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights

No, we’re not talking about the Kate Bush song. The iconic and polarising story is being staged at QPAC with a brand new cast of performers from shake & stir theatre co.

Passion, obsession, lust and betrayal – Wuthering Heights packs more drama into its pages than any soap opera, which has helped it stand the test of time since it’s first publication in 1847. Such a tale makes for great viewing, which is why numerous stage productions of the book have been staged over the years. Acclaimed ensemble shake & stir theatre co (which is celebrating a decade of activity in 2016) will be tackling the tale at the Cremorne Theatre at QPAC from June 12–19, bringing to life the gothic elements in a starkly visceral visual format.

The production features a new cast of up-and-comers such as Tim Dashwood, Nick Skubij and Gemma Willing as well as Australian film, television and theatre veteran Linden Wilkinson. A stunning set, designed by Josh McIntosh brings the woodland farmhouse of Wuthering Heights to life, alongside light, sound and projections to bring the story’s storms to life inside the theatre. shake & stir’s artistic director Nick Skubij will be leading the production as star and director, which looks like it will be faithful to Emily Brontë’s engrossing vision.
