Can you feel that, Brisbane? The humidity is rising, we’re dabbing feverishly at our brows and fanning our chests in pure anticipation. No, it’s not a traditional summer heatwave headed our way – the sexy, salacious and unashamedly bold Wonderland Festival is tumbling back into town! Set to unleash on its home of the Brisbane Powerhouse from November 22, the annual cocktail of comedy, cabaret, circus and all things sexy is set to get temperatures soaring.

After a record-breaking showing in 2017, Wonderland Festival is set to return to the Brisbane Powerhouse for a full-venue takeover spanning 11 glorious nights. Coming into its fifth year, the festival has become well-known is the Brisbane arts scene for putting together some of the most exciting programs – think comedy, burlesque, circus, music, magic and more all on the same bill. Some of the country’s most talented performers have assembled for this year’s showing, celebrating our city’s unique creative spirit with total commitment (with a few cheeky surprises thrown in).

This year’s Wonderland Festival line-up features a bevvy of brand-new shows alongside returning favourites. Coming in hot with a second helping of action is the ever-titillating Bombshell Burlesque with its latest offering Heatwave, the seductive trio of sirens in Babushka presenting wickedly funny cabaret Happily Ever After, and beloved chanteuse Mama Alto with a stunning tribute to Billie Holiday. The festival is also continuing its reputation for launching the next crop of stars, with world premieres in the form of Two Man Tarantino and Bitch on Heat – as if the names don’t sell you immediately. This is just the tip of the iceberg, with a grand total of 25 shows taking place over the course of the festival.

Want to add a bit of sizzle to your summer? You can grab tickets to all of the amazing shows at Wonderland Festival through Ticketek. For a closer look at what’s on offer, head to the Brisbane Powerhouse website.
