Rise and shine for a cause at the White Ribbon Day Breakfast

There are certain topics in society that evoke such strong emotional responses that they become impossible to ignore. Domestic violence is a heartbreaking epidemic in Australia, but there are legends out there doing their best to fight the good fight and bring it down. Inviting the public to become heroes is the Queensland Government’s White Ribbon Day Breakfast, happening at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday November 25 to educate, inspire change and serve up some damn delicious food.

The White Ribbon Day Breakfast is an annual event that brings together delectable eats and social justice – patrons are treated to a sit-down feast whilst an expertly curated panel discusses current issues and important tactics surrounding the domestic violence crisis. This year, associate editor of the Courier-Mail Kylie Lang heads the passionate crew that will be talking all things cultural change. Joining her are Tasman Bain, Antonio Chevez, Deputy Commissioner Brett Pointing and Father Dimitri Tsakas, each bringing their unique backgrounds and perspectives to the table and helping to tackle the issue.

As well as raising money for super-important and topical cause, the White Ribbon Day Breakfast always turns out some delicious eats that are well worth getting out of bed for. This year, the crew at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre are cooking up something real good – the menu is on lockdown until it’s confirmed on Monday 14 November, but we can tell you that the award-winning BCEC team has focused on fresh Queensland produce. Taste those summer vibes!

If you’re keen to step up and chow down, you can pick up tickets to the White Ribbon Day Breakfast through Eventbrite. Proceeds from ticket sales go towards helping the tireless efforts of White Ribbon and DV Connect.
